The Judging System
Judging Panel
An experienced international judging panel of five judges will be selected at every event. When judging, each wave will be reviewed independently by the five judges — each judge scoring rides on a scale of 0–10 points per ride. No head judge will be used.
Counting Wave Scores
Each entry to any division requires the athlete's two best waves. The combined scores of both waves determine the final result — maximum total 20.00. Special categories may have different requirements, as noted in their descriptions.
Wave Scale Ratings
Uploaded video submissions — 'waves' — are rated on a judging scale of Poor, Fair, Average, Good and Excellent, allowing judges, athletes and fans alike to understand performance levels from first entry.
Wave Score Average
All five judges score each wave individually. The highest and lowest scores are then removed, with the remaining three judges' scores averaged to calculate the final wave score — ensuring fair, balanced results.

Competitors must ensure, they surf the correct wave setting for their respective divisions. Incorrect wave settings will not be accepted
Multiple attempts can be purchased at an extra wave upload fee. Competitors must submit exactly two waves: their best two right-hand rides or their best two left-hand rides. Both waves are scored independently by the judging panel; the combined total (maximum 20.00) determines your leaderboard position.
Athletes may purchase additional attempts, allowing them to resubmit improved waves before the entry deadline of 25 August 2026. Only the most recently submitted pair of waves counts for scoring — earlier submissions are superseded.
