It’s the final day, and night, of the Alaïa Surf Challenge. Entries for the inaugural tournament on the Wavepool Surf Tour need to be in the system by the end of 31 October. Then it’s over to the judges.

Three months of surfing. Two rides that count. The Alaïa Surf Challenge reaches its final day today, 31 October, bringing the Wavepool Surf Tour’s opening event to a close.
One Pool. The First Chapter.
Alaïa Bay in the Swiss Alps has hosted the Tour’s first competition, welcoming surfers across ages and disciplines to surf, submit, and compete. Helped along with Sion Tourisme, Wave Garden, and Suf Eye, it has been a cool first chapter for The Tour.
Two Rides Tell the Story
Competitors have selected their best two waves, watched the Sion Tourisme Leaderboards, and chased improvements. Every submission has been judged on Commitment, Creativity, and Control. Just a couple of hours open for improvements. Thanks to event partners, sponsors, and supporters, including EQ Premium Organic Sun Care, Hurley, Ocean & Earth, NMD Bodyboards, Sion Tourisme, and others.
Plenty on the Line
With $20,000 in cash and prizes, division honours and World Final qualification for eligible winners, there’s plenty riding on the final standings.
The Results Come Next
Today marks the close of the Challenge. Confirmed results will follow once judging is complete, revealing the performances and surfers who defined the Tour’s first event. Not to mention the Golden Fin Award for entertainment value.
Into The Future
Alaïa started the story. Next comes Ride The Future, opening on 13 November to surfers from wavepools worldwide.
